Scoop was assigned to The Adventure Team by Joe Colton when he asked for reassignment from G.I. Joe. He cited the terrors he saw in the second Cobra Civil War as his reasons for leaving the battlefield. He said one Civil War was bad enough but he was not as brave as the men who sacrificed themselves in the second senseless war. He wanted out of the armed forces and wanted to publish his book documenting the heroes he had met in G.I. Joe. Colton put a stop to his papers and explained what The Adventure Team's assignment was. Scoop was to be HQ's eyes. He would travel around the world to photograph and film the team's exploits and document their findings. He quickly agreed not knowing what kind of trouble The Adventure Team would find.
