Dillon L. Moreno

Dillon Moreno used to be another man.  A top government agent using the codename Sabertooth, he destroyed anything he was told.  A threat to anyone who dared plan actions against the United States, he was a valuable asset to the country.  But things would not always be perfect for him and his identity got out.  He began receiving threats against his wife and daughter.  Still convinced that they were protected he never worried any harm would come to them.  That ended when he came across a bomb in his basement with less than 10 minutes left on the timer.  Pure luck had let him stumble on the bomb, but it was his skill that let him diffuse it.  Sure that there was a leak in his command, he sidestepped them and made direct contact with the G.I. Joe team.

He and General Hawk engineered a plan to kill Sabertooth and his family.  They set it up to appear the man known as Sabertooth was fleeing to Canada with his family.  Along the way they set up a switch at a rest stop where Sabertooth and his family got into another car and returned to G.I. Joe HQ.  Clutch and Covergirl then took Sabertooth's car and drove it off an embankment.  A disguised crew of Doc, Lifeline, and Stretcher showed up as a EMS team and switched in a dummy for Sabertooth's daughter and carted Clutch and Covergirl off as Sabertooth and his wife.  Hawk pulled some strings and was able to have Sabertooth and his family pronounced dead from the accident.  He received full military honors and was buried at Arlington.  His exploits were published in international papers and he was remembered as a hero in the United States.  His enemies celebrated.

Now that Sabertooth and his family were dead he needed a new identity.  They were now living on the army base that provided cover for G.I. Joe so Sabertooth felt that his family was well protected.  They were issued new identities and Hawk was able to get them new social security numbers so they were functioning members of society again.  The newly christened Dillon Moreno asked Hawk for a place on the G.I. Joe team but was initially denied.  Dillon's wife became a secretary at the base and his daughter was home schooled by her mother.  Hawk wanted Dillon to cherish his family and life that was almost taken away from him.  But you can't keep a good soldier down and especially one as persistent as Dillon.

Hawk finally gave in an assigned Dillon to permanent Tiger Force duty with the codename Wreckage.  Tiger Force is G.I. Joe's vehicle training program.  Here Joes learn everything about their own vehicles as well as the enemy's vehicles.  Painted with bright colors these vehicles are not up to battle standard but they are good enough for training purposes.  Here on this team he works with the only other Joe with permanent Tiger Force detail, Skystriker.  Skystriker teaches handling the vehicles and commandeering enemy vehicles.  Wreckage teaches destruction.  He knows the weak points on enemy vehicles just as he knows the U.S. government's vehicles.  No matter what it is, he knows how to destroy it with a grenade or disable it by cutting a couple of wires.

Now helping to fight the United States' enemies again he is happy.  With his family safe and his American pride shining he realizes Sabertooth's "death" is the best thing to ever happen.
