Bazooka has been with G.I. Joe for a long time. He fought through the Cobra Civil War and stuck with the team until Cobra was driven underground. He retired from the military after that and lived his life fishing and traveling with no other obligations. When he couldn't afford to travel anymore he took a job as a night watchman and continued to fish whenever he could close to home. When Cobra began to threaten the world again G.I. Joe came calling, but Bazooka turned them down. He had grown to enjoy he easy living and planned on living the rest of his life that way. And he continued until Cobra began making there presence known more and more. Bazooka's sense of patriotism overcame he desire for an easy life and he contacted Hawk for a spot on the team. But after all the years of easy living Bazooka had put on some extra weight and couldn't pass the physical. With a new dedication, Bazooka hit the gym and began shedding the extra baggage. Then his longtime friend Alpine called him with a spot in G.I. Joe for him.
Joseph Colton was forming The Adventure Team to travel the world and investigate strange occurrences which may or may not deal with Cobra. Bazooka was at first disappointed since he wanted a spot back on the Main Roster. But Alpine talked it over with Bazooka and explained what they were doing and how they may possibly run into problems and need a weapons expert. Bazooka's patriotism began to shine again and he signed on. He is The Adventure Team's weapons specialist now and he drives the team's HUMVEE following behind Tollbooth in The R.O.C.C. As an added bonus he can take his fishing gear with him and enjoy Earth's finest fishing holes in his downtime.
