Emilia K. Zahn
Emily Zahn was an outsider all through childhood. A bit bigger than all the other kids her age, she was picked on by them all. She became accustomed to spending time alone. As she grew older she realized there was no way she would be as petite as all the other girls. So she went in the opposite direction in high school by joining the weight lifting class and building her muscles. Everyone thought she would become a professional body builder but she surprised them all by joining the Marine Corps straight out of high school.
Even more of an outsider as a woman in the Marines, she continually shamed most of the other male recruits. She excelled in jungle warfare and sniper training. Before ever going on a single mission, Emily was recommended to the Joes by her commanding officer for her dedication and excellence. Leaving the Marine Corps boot camp and going straight into Beach Head's Greenshirt program is enough to break any person but Emily stood strong.

After watching her performance for 2 months, Sarge was truly impressed by this young woman. She had done what few men had ever done; she had earned Sergeant Slaughter's respect.
Sarge approached Emily and offered her a spot on his newly formed Marauders where she became the team's sniper expert. Sarge has taken an almost fatherly role in her life and guides her the best he can. Sarge, in fact, chose her codename, Valkyrie. The name is derived from Norse mythology and means chooser of the slain, quite fitting considering her new job.
